This beautiful and impressive plant has large, dark green leaves with prominent silver veins. Like its namesake, the elephants ear, the leaves are large and can grow to be 30cm.
 
The elephants ear does best in a warm, humid environment, and so is ideally suited to a bathroom, or in among other plants. Keep the soil lightly moist at all times, and feed every 3-4 weeks in the growing season (spring and summer).
