Whale fin sansevieria (sansevieria masoniana)

Whale fin sansevieria (sansevieria masoniana)

The snake plant is charcterised by its upright, structural leaves. There a number of different snake plants, and it is easy to see why the masoniana is commonly known as the 'whale fin' plant. The snake plant is unique as it converts carbon dioxide to oxygen at night, making it perfect for a bedroom environment.

The snake plant is perfect for plant newbies, as it is tolerant of almost any conditions. While like most plants, it prefers a bright room, it will be happy anywhere that has at least some natural light. It requires little watering, and should only be given water once the soil has dried out completely (every few weeks, and less in winter).

Please note: it is common for these plants to have small scars on their leaves. This does not affect their health in any way.
